Hassan Hicks are contact
lens specialists. We can provide lenses from stock,
or any lens can be made specially to order. Disposable
lenses can be daily, weekly, monthly, 3 monthly and
Toric lenses for astigmatism in gas permeable and
soft lenses. Plus Corneal Gas Permeable lenses -
from standard permeability to very high permeability. |
Many people find the need for spectacles restricting
and inconvenient or may simply want a different look
for social occasions. Hassan Hicks offer a complete
contact lens service including lenses in a range
of materials, designs and colours for those occasions
when good vision is required without spectacles.
Not everyone is suitable for contact lens wear,
so you will require a full eye examination to determine
your optical prescription and to assess your suitability.

Lens Types
SOFT LENSES are initially very comfortable,
easy to care for and provide good quality vision
for the
majority of contact lens patients. There are
various modes of replacement lenses available and
they include:
- Monthly disposable: A brand new pair of
lenses every month ensures healthy, comfortable
eyes at a sensible price.
- Daily disposable: If you wear your contact
lenses less often (for sport or social
occasions, for example) or you prefer the convenience
of not having
to clean and store your lenses, you may be suitable for daily
disposable
lenses.
- Standard replacement: These are designed
to last longer than disposable lenses,
but often require
a different cleaning regime to prevent
any build up of
deposits from the eye. These may be appropriate if your prescription
is not catered
for by monthly or disposables or if your eye has a specific
need for a lower or higher water content material.
- Multifocal: For patients who are just starting
to need added correction for reading
and close work, these are designed to give improved
vision
for close
work without sacrificing the distance vision.
- Coloured: We can provide a wide choice of
plain and prescription coloured lenses.
|
RIGID GAS PERMEABLE (RGP) may be suitable if you
have a high prescription or a moderate to high level
of astigmatism. These last longer than soft lenses
and offer higher levels of oxygen transmission to the
eye, offering stable, clear vision for patients with
astigmatism or who are unsuitable for soft lenses. |
 |
HARD (PMMA) CORNEAL LENSES For those people that still prefer to use hard lenses
and who have no adverse problems with this type,
Hard Lenses can still be made available.
COSMETIC LENSES All three types of lenses are available for cosmetic use.
Please ask for our advice.
